On 10th October 2024 RENEWPORT was in Brussels for the first Green Living Areas Mission Institutional Policy Dialogue. The event was organized back-to-back with the European Week of Regions and Cities at the POLIS network office.
The first Institutional Policy Dialogue brought together a wide range of stakeholders to discuss the sustainability challenges affecting Mediterranean cities. The aim is to boost local collaboration and expand green urban policies across the region.
The event focused on cross-cutting themes and established parallel policy working groups. These groups analysed selected policy champions from green living areas’ key focus areas. With mutual learning, this event set a solid foundation for ongoing cooperation within and beyond the Euro-MED Programme.
The Green Living Areas Mission effort aims to improve the quality of life for Mediterranean citizens, particularly regarding mobility, spatial planning, energy and environment.
To achieve these, several Institutional Policy Dialogues will take place, constituting a unique opportunity for policy-oriented Thematic Project Partners and key Euro-Mediterranean stakeholders to exchange on concrete ways to implement, replicate, adapt and upscale public policy instruments at the local level.
