Our story
Maritime transport is the most environmentally friendly way of transporting large quantities of goods. However, as an activity based on fossil fuels contributes to climate change.
This is even more true in MED ports, located in the proximity of populated areas, degrading local air quality on top of the emitting CO2.
To change this, cooperation is central.
Why?
Because pollution and GHG emissions don’t stop at borders.
RENEWPORT aims to tackle this issue for the first time in Programme Area, by supporting the clean energy transition of MED ports, turning them from emitters of pollutants and greenhouse gases to clean energy hubs.
