Slide2Open Shipping Finance organized the 8th annual conference in Athens on 22nd January 2025.
“There is never a dull moment in shipping” was the slogan of the Conference, which was organized with a 360-degree approach to shipping. As the premier 2025 gathering of top shipping executives, this event was brimming with exclusive networking opportunities, in fact the event brought together more than 400 participants and a growing online audience of 28,000 viewers from 133 countries.
The 8th Slide2Open Shipping Finance 2025 Conference & Concert aim was to address the needs of shipowners and top executives in the shipping, transport, trade and logistics sectors. This event was also essential for professionals in banking, investment, finance, ICT, telecommunications, engineering, energy and law who are engaged in the shipping industry.
That was a day filled with forward-thinking discussions, unparalleled networking with key sector figures, innovative strategies, discussing about the following key topics: Geopolitics, Shipping Finance, ESG, Technology, Fuel and Human Capital.
In this framework the Port of Piraeus, project partner of RENEWPORT, presented the main goals of the project, which aims to tackle the challenge of climate change mitigation through the exploitation of renewable energy sources in MED ports. RENEWPORT intends to address this challenge for the first time in the Programme Area, jointly strengthening institutional and operational capacity building related to the key issue of port clean energy transition. This will be achieved by increasing the skills and planning competences of ports, stocktaking existing studies and solutions under a new approach.
