On November 5, 2025, the RENEWPORT project participated in the event “New Solutions for More Sustainable Mediterranean Territories” at ECOMONDO in Rimini. The conference, organized by Interreg Euro-MED “Green Living Areas” mission, gathered 12 European projects working to create greener, more resilient Mediterranean regions.
RENEWPORT presented its efforts to make port areas more sustainable and energy-efficient, highlighting the project’s contribution to reducing environmental impact and promoting renewable energy use in maritime infrastructures. During the event, RENEWPORT presented its Toolkit — a practical instrument designed to support ports in implementing green transition strategies and improving energy efficiency. The Toolkit aligns perfectly with the Euro-MED mission’s goal of developing local strategies that mitigate climate change effects and foster community resilience.
The event provided an opportunity for RENEWPORT to exchange experiences with other Mediterranean projects and Italian stakeholders engaged in designing innovative models for the green transition of coastal territories. It also reinforced the project’s visibility within the wider network of Euro-MED partners promoting integrated and sustainable regional development.
By joining this high-level discussion, RENEWPORT reaffirmed its role as a driver of eco-innovation in port management, supporting the transformation of Mediterranean ports into key actors in Europe’s path toward environmental sustainability and energy transition
